Durante bastante tempo fui consumidor de Weetabix, apesar de há bastante tempo não o comprar (experimentem mergulhar em sumo de laranja - é delicioso! - pelo menos para mim). E durante esse tempo, habituei-me a encontrar as armas da Casa Real Inglesa na embalagem. No entanto, ao dar com o site da Weetabix, reparei que em parte alguma havia referência ao facto da marca ser fornecedora da Casa Real Inglesa.

Apesar de ter bastante que fazer, enviei um e:mail para os serviços de consumidor a colocar a questão, se a marca continuava a ser fornecedora da Casa Real. Eis a resposta que recebi no dia seguinte:

Many thanks for your enquiry.

For many years we have featured the royal warrants on our packs and have been proud to do so. However, we are increasingly endeavouring to communicate more and more nutritional and product benefit information to our customers, all of which takes up space on our packs. Rather than relegate the royal warrants to another position on the side panel where we might be able to fit them in, we feel it is more appropriate and respectful to remove them from the side of our packs. We have timed this move to coincide with the removal of the Queen Mother's warrant which has been taken off packs this year marking the end of the transition period allowed by the Royal Warrant holders association.

Esperemos é que apesar das alterações, a tia Belinha continue a comer muito Weetabix, de modo a que a possamos continuar a vê-la sorridente (sim, porque se for como a mãezinha, está para durar!).
